Gillian Chung robbed in HCM City Gillian Chung is a singer and actress based in Hong Kong. During a recent Valentines Day trip with her boyfriend her phone was stolen as they were trying to navigate the streets of HCM City. "My boyfriend tried to chase the thief, but he disappeared in the crowd," she told a Hong Kong newspaper on February 19. A number of South Korean productions have come to shot scenes in Vietnam. For fans this has meant that the international airports are a good place for those who want to get a celebrity sighting. They have often formed large crowds that can at times become raucous. Performers such as Bi Rain, Super Junior, Big Bang, and T-ara can regularly be seen at international airports. In one widely-reported incident that occurred a few years ago, the star of the South Korean film "Full House" was so terrified by the crowds that showed up at Tan Son Nhat Airport at 11pm just to catch a glimpse. Bi Rain quickly left out of fear for his safety. Enthusiastic fans scare foreign artists Even as he fled the scene, a mob of over-enthusiastic young people chased his car. There were several injuries and reports of theft. Similar incidents have occurred during performances of South Korean groups like Big Bang and T-ara. The former was so terrified when the audience rushed the stage at a HCM City performance last year that they were forced to stop the show and hide backstage. T-ara also had to stop a show last year because of audience behaviour. Cast of "Running Man" terrified by crazed crowds The cast of the Korean television programme "Running Man" were shocked at the behaviour of the sizable crowd which gathered to see them while filming in Hanoi in early February. Fans tried to grab their hair and tear at their clothes, leaving one cast member, Kim Jong Kook, in injured. Kim Jong Kook (first from the right) injured while filming in Hanoi Many have begun to worry that such incidents will harm Vietnam's image as a desirable place to perform or film and discourage celebrities who might otherwise visit the country.

Các điểm tham quan như chùa Thiên Mụ, lăng Tự Đức, Lăng Minh Mạng, Lăng Khải Định The Lo Lo ethnic minority group's ancestral worship was recently recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage. It is also the special cultural identity of ethnic people inhabiting Dong Van Stone Plateau in mountainous northern Ha Giang province. The ancestral worship, which aims to acknowledge ancestors, is a beautiful spiritual custom passed down from generation to generation. It is practised by the Lo Lo people only during the Lunar New Year festival and on the 15th day of July of the lunar calendar. Offerings to ancestors include one cow, one pig, one chicken, steamed glutinous rice, alcohol and votive papers. A pair of bronze drums, with one representing the male and the other exemplifying the female, is indispensable to the Lo Lo people. The drums symbolise the universe and human beings, and are the embodiment of gods. The solemn worship lasts for two and a half days. Young people wearing traditional costumes perform ritual dances to the rhythm of the bronze drums. At the end of the worship, the food offerings will be served to thank neighbours for their help. The Lo Lo people believe that through this practice, their ancestors will be happy in the after life and give them health and prosperity. Duong Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Ha Giang Museum, said the Lo Lo people's ancestral worship is a unique custom, connecting family members and enhancing solidarity among the community. The Lo Lo population in Ha Giang numbers 1,506, residing mostly in Lung Cu, Lung Tao, and Sung La communes of Dong Van district and Thuong Phung and Xin Cai communes of Meo Vac district.

Real estate directors avoid creditors before Tet

Các bạn vui lòng liện hệ hoặc book tour online để có giá tốt nhất nhé A number of real estate directors have been seeking ways to avoid their creditors on these days leading up to Tet. Many real estate companies stop operations Recently, Mr. Tuan, the director of a property firm in Hanoi, has often been absent from the office as a way to delay the debt settlement. He said, "In 2012, most staff members had to be let go. Now we have only three left. However, the company could not ensure sufficient salary even for them. I would go somewhere far from home to escape these problems during Tet." He offered his five-floor house near the West Lake up for sale to repay his debt, but has yet to find a buyer. Despite selling his house and car, Mr. Hung, another director of a real estate company in Hanoi has not been able to fully settle his debts. At this time two years ago, he spent the time before the holiday season shopping for branches in Nhat Tan Peach Village, often spending upwards of VND10 million each (USD476). This year is a different story. His office has been closed for three days and he leaves his house early in the morning, not even informing his family where he went. A director of a real estate company in Trung Hoa area, Hanoi's Cau Giay District had to write a letter to express gratitude to his staff and explain why they were not to be given any Tet bonuses. Since April staff members there have been working for half-salary, and he promised to gradually pay back the remaining. Around half of the employees have already quit. This is especially shocking when seen in the light of the traditional Tet taboos. One of which is not to leave unsettled debts for the new year. This, it is thought, will badly affect the entire year to come. Little hope for the real estate market in 2013 According to a recent report by the Ministry of Construction, a range of property transaction offices in Hanoi and HCM City have stopped operation, with more than half in HCM City having closed their doors. Last year 680 real estate companies suspended business activities or were completely liquidated. The report showed that around 42,250 apartments; 92,800 square metres of offices for rent; 98,400 square metres of trade centres and 7.9 million square metres of land remained vacant. The ministry estimated that the total value of these assets was VND111.96 trillion (USD5.38 billion). Nguyen Hoang Nam, a representative of one real estate business, said the frozen real estate market was due to two factors; the decrease in investment capital as a result of the economic downturn and a loss of confidence in the market.

Travel firms complain of economic difficulties

Các bạn vui lòng liện hệ hoặc book tour online để có giá tốt nhất nhé While, according to many, the tourism industry in Vietnam has shown significant progress, many travel firms have said that they are facing difficulties. Many travel firms recorded lower profits despite more tourists The country welcomed over 6.8 million international tourists last year, up 13.86% compared to a year earlier. The number of international tourists to Hanoi reached 2.1 million last year, up 11.3% from the year before. However, the figures seemed not to reflect the situation of small to medium-sized businesses that specialise in services for international travellers. In Hanoi a survey of such businesses revealed that many had to lay off between 25% and 40% of their employees. Others reported having to move office locations to less convenient, but more affordable buildings. Although the peak of the tourism season is from October to April, many tourism companies continue to report losses. Nguyen Vu Vy, manager of Ha Hoi restaurant in Hanoi, said, "When our business was thriving, we welcomed as many as 150 international tourists every day during the month of November. However, the figure has dropped to around 30." An unnamed director of a five-star hotel in Hanoi said they failed to meet their quota this year, with only a 73% occupancy rate, down 2% from last year. Their very modest increase in room prices and a number of promotion programmes failed to attract guests, and the hotel's revenue dropped by more than 10% for the year. He attributed this to the global financial situation. More tourists, lower profits HCM City municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that last year hotel profits in the city as a whole were much lower than a year earlier due to higher overheads. Occupancy rates in three to five-star hotels was 68.7% last year, down 2.3% on from the year before. "Last month, a lot of four and five-star hotels in Hanoi, HCM City, Nha Trang and Danang City as well as high-end yachting services in Ha Long launched large promotion programmes. This just proves that they were in desperate economic difficulties," said Pham Manh Ha, from Vietnam Luxury Travel Company. Le Van Kien, Director of Travel Sense Asia admitted that his company recorded a decrease of from 5% to 8% in revenues during the recent peak tourism season, as tourists tend to demand higher quality services at lower prices. The company is also facing fierce competition with other travel firms. In order to help the situation several travel firms got together to put pressure on domestic tourism service providers to force them to lower their prices by 15%-20%, Pham Manh Ha confirmed. Mong Cai Travel Club in Quang Ninh Province said they served over 92,000 Chinese tourists in the first ten months of last year, up 46% from a year earlier but their returns were still quite modest. According to the club, Chinese travel firms sold tours to these tourists at relatively high prices, but paid their Vietnamese partners only a fraction of what they collected, for example only from VND800,000 to VND1 million (USD38.3-USD47.9) per person for a four-day and three-night Mong Cai – Ha Long – Hanoi tour. Vu The Binh, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association said even though Chinese tourists come in large numbers, they tend not to spend much.

Binh Thuan-an attractive destination for Russian visitors
Công ty Eagletourist chuyên cung cấp các tour du lịch giá rẻ, tour ghép đoàn miền trung, tour du lịch lào, tour du lịch campuchia, tour du lịch thái lan với giá cả rẻ nhất, dịch vụ hoàn hảo nhất. Các bạn vui lòng liện hệ hoặc book tour online để có giá tốt nhất nhé Binh Thuan is said to have been an attractive destination for Russian travelers because the number of Russian tourist arrivals to Binh Thuan has been increasing rapidly in the recent years. As of November, 2012 Binh Thuan was estimated to welcome more than 2,871,400 turns of visitors, an increase of 11.2% over the same period last year, including about 315,210 turns of overseas visitors, rose by 18% compared to the 2011's corresponding period. Among foreign visitors from Russia, Germany, China, United Kingdom, the U.S, South Korea, Australia, etc, Russian arrivals made up 47.11%. Because the peak season of winter vacation for Russian tourists to "shelter from harsh winter" is from November onwards. At the same time, Cam Ranh airport has started to receive direct flights from Russia, the number of Russian visitors to Binh Thuan has sharply increased. Currently, Mui Ne-Binh Thuan has gradually become a "Russian village" with a lot of hotels, resorts, restaurants, spa centers, gymnastic centers jointly opened by Vietnamese and Russian investors. Russian tourists prefer to travel to Binh Thuan mainly because this is an ideal destination where has several high-grade resorts known as "the capital of resorts", various delicious dishes from fresh seafood at reasonable prices. The climatic conditions here are favorable for water and extreme sports such as: windsurfing, kitesurfing, diving, etc. Moreover, Mui Ne is only 200 km from Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh city) and Cam Ranh airport (Khanh Hoa province). In current time, Russian tourists staying at Bamboo Village Resorts & Spa are making up more than 60% of our total customers. There are a lot of Russians coming to Mui Ne for recreation and they usually stay here from 7 to 10 days. Several visitors have come and returned to Bamboo Village resort & Spa for 8-9 times. Particularly, some travelers have ever stayed here 18 times. As annual plan, at the end of the year, the resort will organize two special Gala nights to welcome Christmas Eve (in the evening of December 24-) and New Year's Eve (on December 31 night). On these events, our visitors will join in traditional games, enjoy tasty dishes and impressive performances with Vietnamese traditional songs and dances. Most of Russian visitors usually arrive and spend long period in Mui Ne. Many of them have returned to Binh Thuan several times. According to Binh Thuan Tourism Association, the total tourism industry is joining hands to strive for the aim "Mui Ne-Binh Thuan- a destination today, tomorrow and forever". Drawing tourists to Binh Thuan for the first time is a difficult task. But it is more difficult to satisfy and attract them to come back to the locality for recreation and enjoying new experiences. Besides Mui Ne - Binh Thuan, there are a lot of competitively attractive tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh city, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Da Lat with each own advantages. Meanwhile, in spite of the fame of "the capital of resorts", Binh Thuan tourism is still facing many obstacles due to disadvantages in traffic (both road and air traffic). For that reason, the province needs to promote and renew its images by means of organizing international events, as well as attaching special importance to improving service quality. In recent years, Binh Thuan has hosted a lot of large-scale events such as: the international windsurfing (PWA Worldtour), international sailing festival, 1st Vietnam international hot air balloon fiesta, Mui Ne half-marathon. Otherwise, the provincial authorities have continually upgraded the traditional festivals of the locality such as: Kate festival of the Cham community, Nghinh Ong festival of the Chinese-Vietnamese people, Cau Ngu festival, lantern procession in Mid-Autumn festival, traditional boat race on Ca Ty river in Lunar New Year to be on par with other international festivals. Besides, visitors also contemplate flying sand hills in Mui Ne, Trinh Nu sand hill, Bau Ong and Bau Ba lakes in Hoa Thang commune (Bac Binh district), or the "Lying Buddha statue with more than 40 in length on the top of Ta Cu mountain, various temples and towers of the Cham ethnic minority… In addition, the resorts in Mui Ne often organize many art performances with intangible cultural features of the ethnic groups in the locality. By their own fair hands, visitors can wrap "banh chung", one of the indispensable traditional meals of Vietnamese families in Lunar New Year. Source: Binh Thuan Newspaper
